FORTIS Dogfight Cup 2006

Having organized five successful national championships and the exclusive rights to organize a European championship awarded by the developers of the two simulation software are both signalizing the organizers experience and recognition. Two categories were open for the ambitious: Lock On (modern jet aircrafts) and IL-2 (classic World War 2 aircrafts). Registrations were accepted until the 15th July. The best teams from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Sweden and Hungary complemented with pilots of the Swedish and Hungarian Air Force met each other in Budapest. They competed against each other in the final on the 9th and 10th September in Budapest to decide, which team is the best section (a team of two fighters acting in concert against the adversary – a basic fighter formation) on Europe skies. Thanks to the main sponsor, the Switzerland based watch manufacturer FORTIS, the best of the best returned with a unique pilot watch. After a two day struggle the winners could be determined:
