The II. JETfly Dogfight Cup closed its doors yesterday. There was a great atmosphere during the competitions whole three days; a lot of good fights could be witnessed. This competition showed once again, that the different branches of the `sim-community` can live in harmony with each other, since beside the two categories (Lock On, IL2) members of the Flight Simulator community were also present.
One may say that the second JETfly Dogfight Cup was a great success both from the gamers’ and from the visitors’ point of view. Throughout the three days everyone could follow the unfolding duels on two beamers. Professional gamers and real fighter pilots joined the event on Saturday, performing spectacular dogfights, but the average simmers had also no reason to be ashamed of. By day 3 no real fighter pilot was left, with other words no real fighter pilot made it into the quarter-finale, not even 1st Lieutenant László `Szatyi` Szatmári, the winner of the last year`s cup. Due to hundreds of hours training, to the huge experience and knowledge members of virtual squadrons dominated the cup, however `civilians` in both categories caused real surprises. Some out these civilians earned the respect of virtual squadron members and were also invited to join their community. The finals showed the character of a squadron-intern-championship, since in the Lock On category members of the 42nd `Red Hunters` TFW fought against each other, while in the IL-2:FB category members of the VO101 Puma Vadászosztály dueled. During the semi-finals the competitors really showed their experience making these rounds to the most exciting ones. Few of these rounds can only be described as an artistic display a dogfighting skills. After many close fights finally we could celebrate the winners, who also received many valuable presents. Thanks to the sponsors the places from 2 to 8 were also honored. We also had a fair play prize in both categories, further more the squadron of the best fighter pilot also received a prize.

Mi történt azon a napon? Ha a Nap egy bizonyos szögből sütött a kecskeméti légibázis betonjára, sokáig egy ezüstös csík emlékeztetett a 2008. április 17-i repülésre.
