Participants of every air show can`t wait the moment when the last visitor leaves.
If a visitor is also a good observer, then he or she probably noticed, that after the last plane has landed the information exchange between the technicians and the pilots, between the participants of the air show reaches its peak. Everyone passes over every bit of information about the location of the HANGAR PARTY. That`s the party where every participant celebrates together, each other, the possibility of being once again part of a successful air show; they celebrate flying itself, the pilots and the enthusiasts.
By 8 pm everyone, who have given their best to make the day of every single visitor gathered in the blue hangar of Kecskemét. After having his speech held Dr. János Gömbös, president of the organizing committee and Major-General János Sági, commander of the Hungarian Air Force paid their tribute to the leaders of the participating foreign nations.
Just like on the previous air show, pilots giving more than their best were rewarded. The challenge cup founded by the online magazine JETfly has gone to the pilot of the best jet display, to Captain Gábor „Bagira” Molnár. To support Hungarian aviation ÁB Generali founded a challenge cup for the best display. This cup was awarded to 1st Lt. Szabolcs „Szabi” Varga for his L-39 solo display.
Aerotechnika Rt offered a prize for the best L-39 pilot, which was given to Major Gyula „Surda” Molnár. The prize, an Albatross model was handed over by Miklós Tamás.
After the formalities were over the real celebration began. The pilots and technicians of different nations engaged in lively conversations exchanging their experiences and simply getting each other known. Sometimes one could notice the realization of the host`s unforgettable idea in the crowd: no one could escape Major Zoltán Németh, who was equipped with a vaporizer filled with `pálinka` (Hungarian brandy). Everyone had to try it.
The party - as always - was a huge success. After a rest the guest headed home.
